What next for Death by Game Show

So where next for Death by Game Show?

The truth is, the game hasn’t performed well and Death by Game Show now needs additional fundraising to grow.

Oointah Games are exploring different avenues to take the game to the next level, routes include a Kickstarter campaign.

Our goal since release has always been to make a multiplayer mode, in the mould of Spy Vs Spy and putting the player in a race to the exit rocket. This remains our long-term vision for the game.

Other goals include an Xbox release, the inclusion of bosses and stat customization.

We hope you’ll support us throughout any campaign.

Let us help you not make our mistakes

To all game developers thinking of putting your game on Steam please read the following. Greenlight is hard if done legitimately, promoting and supporting a game once live is harder.

Be wary of joining up with Steam publishers too, we did this a little after getting slammed on Metacritic hoping they would help us showcase the game. It failed, as they turned out to be no more than a give-away group which has no value when trying to promote a game.

So five months after signing up to them and eight months after launch, knowing the mistakes we’ve made we have to go back to the start. Have we learned from our mistakes?  I believe so. However, we’ll never have a fresh start with Death by Game Show.

With this in mind, we’d love to help other developers who want to know ‘what not to do’ when it comes to Steam Greenlight and distribution. If you have any interest in our help please reach out.

Thank you for your time.
